Dr. Kost serves as a primary psychotherapist for IOP and Outpatient.
She received her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and her Master’s Degree, Certificate in Chemical Dependency Counseling, and PsyD from Alliant International University. Dr. Kost’s experiences in the field of addiction treatment include residential treatment centers and outpatient work with a non-profit and in private practice. Her dissertation research focused on young heroin addicts and their attachment to their drug of choice. Dr. Kost is licensed in the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC53039) and is working to become licensed as a psychologist.
Dr. Kost specializes in working with those who misuse substances and their families, as they work through the trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief and loss that often accompany substance misuse. Her work is deeply influenced by her core values and beliefs about the therapeutic process. She believes all clients are inherently good people who are stuck in a pattern of unwanted behaviors. Dr. Kost strives to provide a safe and consistent environment to allow clients to make the changes they desire.
